William MAUK Obituary

MAUK, William Lynn "Bill" (Age 68) William "Bill" Lynn Mauk was born on July 29, 1951, to Jacob and Betty Mauk in Spokane, Washington and suddenly passed away on April 24, 2020. He was the youngest of three children. Bill was a lifelong resident of the Spokane Newman Lake area and graduated from Central Valley High School in 1969 where he was an outstanding athlete playing offensive and defensive tackle as well as playing 1st chair trumpet in band. He attended Spokane Community College and Clark Community College and graduated with an Applied Science Degree as a Machinists in 1974. He also attended both Whitworth and Eastern Washington Universities and graduated with honors with a Master's in Education with an emphasis in Industrial Technology in 1994. In 1973 he married Lee Ann Puelz and in 1992 they adopted their son Jarrod William Mauk. They were married for 30 years and remained friends. Bill was a journeyman machinist, millwright and tool and die maker. Anyone who worked with or knew Bill knew he wouldn't accept anything less than his work being "dead nuts" on. He was employed by Key Tronic Corporation, ASC Machine Tools, and Parsons for most of his professional career. He also taught Industrial Technology classes for Work Force Development. Bill loved being in the out-of-doors fishing, hunting, cutting firewood, playing golf, flying the RC airplanes he built, target shooting at the range or riding his Harley. He also enjoyed music, played the trumpet, piano and could be heard at various locations singing karaoke. He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Bill is survived by his son Jarrod Mauk, his siblings David Mauk and Sharon Mauk, nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends. Bill's quick wit, ready smile and presence is missed by all who loved him. Per Bill's wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

2018, I flew up to Washington from Florida to help cousin´s Bill and Sharon out. I stayed at Bill´s and we had some great long talks, as we did on the phone many times. Lots of fun and to hear his unforgettable laugh was so worth the visit. I miss those talks and his laugh as I miss both Bill and his sister Sharon.
Never forgotten,
Cousin Patty

Bill, was my cousin, he was a real character when we were children growing up, and we shared the same middle name. He grew into a caring, giving, loving person which I know Bill would give that credit over to the Lord. So many memories I will treasure forever. Our family lost a genuine gem when we lost Bill.
We were cousins, but we became brother and sister in the Lord.

Hello. My name is Ellen Anderson. I did not know Bill personally, but remember that he was a son of Jake and Betty, who were long time friends of my parents (Del and Mary Anderson) from Oakesdale and then Spokane Valley. I was in jr. choir under Jake's leadership back in the early 1960's at Valley Methodist.
My condolences to the family in the loss of Bill.

Hello, My name is Ed Roe. I attended SCC and graduated from the Fluid Power program in 1977. Bill was a teaching assistant during those years and I had the distinct privilege of being his student. With his patient yet insistent personality we learned some very basic elements of machining and using various measuring tools. Bill kept at us to be sure we learned and then did it right, even when we broke a few things in the process. Bill was not only an instructor but a good life coach also, challenging students to behave and work hard. I learned much from Bill about many things, technical and personal, and will always be thankful for the honor of getting to know him some. Rest In Peace Bill Mauk—
