Wilma STEVENS Obituary

STEVENS,
Wilma F.

Early in the morning of July 2nd, the Lord's day, saw the passing of Wilma Fayette Stevens, the pride of Payette, Idaho. Her death, at 93, in the month of her birth, was more sudden than expected. Her physical decline was due to numerous minor health issues, as well as age, which left her confined to a wheelchair and bed for many months. Falling was a constant worry and was the cause of her final demise. It should be noted that in spite of her weakened physical state, she remained strong of spirit until the end. With the love of the Lord in her heats, she was a beacon of light and goodwill to all she encountered.
She married her lifelong love, Warren C. "Steve" Stevens at the tender age of 20 and together they set out to make their way in the world. His career as an engineer secured them a prosperous future. Along the way, they had four children. First came Roger, an itinerat musician/artist age 70. Second is Susie McMurray, mother, grandmother, caregiver, traveler, and all around sweet person. Next came Ken, father, husband, grandfather, succesful in business and lover of the great outdoors. The youngest and perhaps most blessed of the four is Rick, who, like his parents took up the call for Christ and became a Christian radio broadcaster, as well as husband, father and grandfather.
Steve and Wilma had answered the same calling back in 1970 and dedicated their lives to His will. Both became Christian missionaries for about 10 years, serving in Indonesia. Over the course of this time, both had garnered many friends and associates. Wilma loved our nation and the freedoms it provided. Her greatest love, however, was reserved for her family, of which she was the heart and soul and likewise her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She leaves behind seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her remains will be placed beside those of her loving husband who passed on just two years ago. She will be greatly missed, especially by the four of us.
We all Love you, Mom, and Thank You.
