Passed away August 5, 2011 in Spokane, WA. She was born September 6, 1928 in New Rockford, ND and graduated from high school there before moving to Spokane. She worked in circulation for the Spokesman-Review for 34 years. She was a longtime member and volunteer at Unity Church. An avid gardener and Bridge player, she was also a member of the Eagles Lodge and began the Lone Eagles Singles Club there. She is survived by two sons, Ron Lewis (Lorrie) of Spokane Valley, WA, Earl Lewis (Debbie) of Valleyford, WA; a daughter, Terri Lewis-Sander (John) of Spokane; six grandchildren, Sundee Lewis, Ron Lewis, Stephanie Lewis, Curtis Lewis, Jeff Lewis, Jason Lewis; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Lewis, Bailey Green, Alexis Hansen; a brother, Paul Reis of New Rockford, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. Lewis (1980). A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Unity Church, located at 29th and Bernard in Spokane. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Church, Hospice of Spokane, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to HAZEN & JAEGER FUNERAL HOME, 1306 N. MONROE ST.

Mom Lewis is what we all called Wynona because she was a mother to all of us who knew and loved her. She was so 'real' and honest with us as we grew up. We caused her great anxiety I am sure but she never let on !! All of those handsome boys around the house working on cars all the time and all of us cute girls !! Never a dull moment, tiptoeing around the house while Dad Lewis slept!! I loved her house, her yard, her unconditional love. She will never be forgotten. Love to all the family,

Terri, Ron & Earl:
I will miss your Mom as I do mine. I really enjoyed talking with her after my Mom passed and she tried so hard to help me through it even though she was hurting herself. She was more than my Mom's sister - she was one of her best friends. They shared so many fun times together and I'm certain they will continue to do so. They are together now and at peace. Dear Terri and family, It was with sadness I read of the loss of Wynona. I remember her not only as Terri's mom, but as a spirited, hardworking volunteer at the County Corrections Department. We were all blessed by this intelligent, spirited, witty lady.
