David A. MCILRATH

1952 - 2017

MCILRATH, David A. Age 65, went home to be with Lord on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. He was born on January 14, 1952 in Lafayette, Indiana to Dan & Martha (McCord) McIlrath. Dave married his wife, Kathryn (Fleming), on December 28, 1970 in Kokomo, Indiana. Dave was a graduate of Northwestern High School & Purdue University. Throughout his career, he worked at Midstates Steel & Wire, General Foods, Caterpillar Tractor Company and retired from General Electric in Evendale, Ohio. He was a kind, gentle man who loved his family. Dave enjoyed hunting weekends with the boys and watching the many sports and music activities that his grand children were involved in. His great-grandson Davey brought him much joy and happiness. He was a "fixer and builder". Dave loved working with his hands and helping his family with home improvement projects. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and loved the Lord. Dave is survived by his mother, Martha McIlrath; wife, Kathy; children, Anne (Michael) Jones, Michael (Erin) McIlrath; grandchildren, Hannah Jones, Jacob Jones, Gabriel McIlrath & Ava McIlrath; great-grandson David "little Davey" Jones; siblings, Marie (John) Vanada, Ellie (Dennis) Thurston, James McIlrath, Beth McIlrath, Rob (Cheryl) McIlrath and Becky (Mike) Owen and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan McIlrath. There will be a visitation from 10-12 on Saturday, September 30, 2017 followed by a funeral service at 12 at Ivey Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
