To the Rush Family: I am deeply saddened and shocked to learn of Dave's passing. He was my manager at the Gio co. when I lived in Toledo.
I now live in Southern Ca., and was looking at the obits in Toledo, because I had heard that another friend had passed away and that is when I saw Dave's. He was a true gentleman, very kind and caring.

I was so saddened to hear about Dave's death. Dave and I shared many days playing basketball, starting in the 5th grade. I always had great respect for and admiration for him. I am sorry we lost touch in the later years but I have many great memories of a great friend.

Breta and family, Joe Norman told me of Dave's passing on Tuesday. I know that Dave was there for Joe when he had his recent health troubles, and that seems to demonstrate the kind of helping person he was throughout his life. He will be remembered by all those he helped, and by all of us who knew him. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Breta-

So sorry to hear about Dave and hope you are holding upas well as possible. Dave and I had some good times together growing up. He lived on Stratford Drive , across the street from my cousins. We played basketball together (he , of course was always superior to me) and had several classes together in high school. I always admired Dave for his intelligence, athletic ability and genuineness.

Hi Breta:
Sandee and I want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
My first response was to remember Dave at Springfield South High School - All G.O.L., 1st team; A. P. All-Ohio: and All-South Alternate. Probably the "BEST" offensive end ever at Springfield South High School. It was a privelege to know Dave.
