News Death Notice

QUIGLEY, Donald R. 70, of Springfield passed away Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born December 24, 1945 in Pryor, Oklahoma the son of Woodrow Wilson and Pat O'Lee (Haggerty) Quigley. He was appointed to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado and later graduated from the University of Syracuse Air Force foreign language program where he became a Russian linguist. He served honorably in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. After his years of service in the Air Force he received a bachelor's degree in business from Wittenberg University. He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after 38 years of service in the National Air Intelligence Center where he was an Intelligence Analyst and then Chief of Engineering and Software Development at the time he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a nature enthusiast. He also loved working with his hands by building his own furniture, home, and making wine. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Mary Ann (McAllister) Quigley, three sons Patrick (Kelly) of Columbus, Sean (Rachel) of Columbus, and Brian (Heidi) of Yellow Springs, five grandchildren Hayden, Heather, Julia, Katie, and Tommy, a brother Ronald (Erika) Quigley of Layton, UT, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Stephen (Wanda) McAllister of Tipp City, OH and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Morgan Quigley. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Fibro Muscular Dysplasia Society of America or the Simon Kenton Pathfinders. Arrangements by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.

Don will be missed by me and my family for his positive outlook on life and quick wit. Good memories will be cherished in our hearts forever, never to be forgotten. Gatherings with you Mary Ann and Don and cousins have been a tremendous joy to our hearts. We love you.

Mary Ann so sorry to see the passing of Don. May all your wonderful memories be of comfort to you and the boys. God Bless you and your family and be with you.. I always enjoyed yours and Don visits to our office and hearing your stores and up dates of family.

We will miss the sounds of Don cutting and drilling in his garage & driveway. Watching him pick his berries in the back yard with stained fingers and seeing his pimped out truck driving around town. He will be missed. Our deepest sympathy is with Maryann and her family.
