Donald SHEETS Obituary
News Death Notice
SHEETS, Donald G. 83, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 in Heartland of Springfield. He was born July 23, 1931 in Springfield, the son of George W. and Darlene (Cole) Sheets. Mr. Sheets was an avid miniature golfer. He was retired from Sears Roebuck in 1989. Survivors include two brothers; Richard (Jean) Sheets, Urbana and David (Donna) Sheets, New Port Richie, Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a twin brother at birth; Ronald Sheets, a brother; Dale R. Sheets and his parents. Private services will be held for the family with Pastor Alan Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery. Mr. Sheets' family would like to thank Heartland of Springfield and Community Mercy Hospice for all of their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Mercy Hospice in Donald's memory. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.

I am so sorry to hear of Donald's passing. Don was my "Mr.Do Anything", when I managed the Sears Auto Center. I had moved on to another store when Don left Sears. I have spoke of him often over the years. He will be deeply missed.
