Family-Placed Obituary
LOGAN, Douglas Maurice 27 of Springfield, unexpectedly transitioned from this life Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born March 13, 1980 in Springfield, the youngest child of Donald B. & Martha A. Logan. He will be deeply missed by his parents, his sister Deanna E. Logan, grandmother Anna Belle Miller, nephew Jesse L. Bray II all of Springfield, a niece Paige E.Stephenson of Lake City, Iowa and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald B. Logan, maternal grandfather Allen Miller Sr. and paternal grandparents Morris Maurice & Evelyn Logan. His body was entrusted to Porter-Qualls Funeral Home 823 South Yellow Springs Street, where friends may call on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, and after 5:00 pm at the Greater Grace Temple 380 West Leffel Lane where his family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until time of services at 7:00 pm, with his uncle Elder Ronald M. Logan officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 10:30 am in Ferncliff Cemetery. The funeral procession will form Wednesday 10:00 am at the home of his parents. Arrangements by Porter-Qualls Funeral Homes, Springfield Chapel, James E. Qualls III, Funeral Director, (937)-325-1447.

I met Doug through my best friends who attended Northwood University with him. Doug later became their roommate, so I got to know and love the person he was. One of my friends, Natasha, was Doug's girlfriend. I will miss Doug's laid back attitude, and charming personality, but I know that he is in a better place. I pray that God comforts his family, friends, and my friend Natasha during this time of grief and sorrow, but know that the storm is over now for Doug, he is in a resting place. Although we may feel that he is gone too soon, God does have a plan. I pray for your strength, and comfort.

To the family I say, I am sorry for your loss. I met Doug at Northwood University and there we were friends but grew closer when we became roommates. Never had I met someone as kind and caring as he was. He will be missed very much and he will not be forgotten. He was so loved and I am glad he was apart of my extended family. Love to the family.

To my childhood friends, Ronald and Donald, I don't have words to comfort you at a time like this in your lives and I can't say I know how you feel at the earthly loss of your child. But I can say I know who can and will comfort you - that same Jesus we came to know as children at Mt Zion and who has been our Joy in Sorrow, Hope for Tomorrow and Everlasting Father. He is there and will always be. I lift you heavenward in my prayers. May you have that peace that passes all understanding within your hearts and come to accept that "He knows what's best for me, even though my eyes can't see." Now we see through a glass darkly but in that "great gettin' up morning" we will see Him as He is and we will understand it better, by and by.
