I lived by Eddie on Emerald Avenue for 7 years. He was an amazing person, always looking out for everyone. I meet him when I was a child. I grew up down the street from him, when he lived on Melvina. Our birthday's were a week apart, and we would always send each other cards. And I would try to take him a gift or just stop in during this time. I know he loved his friends, family and his pets! He will be greatly missed! He always said I was like a daughter to him.
My deepest sympathy to the family and friends.
Love you Eddie!

I lived by him in Enon. He was a very sweet person always looking out for me and my two kids. I would see him all the time with his little dog, he loved that dog so much!!!! I would bring him over homemade strawberry jam and fresh veggies from my parents farm,he'd say I was like a granddaughter to him. and he would buy the kids gifts at Christmas. Such, a sweet person and loving man we, have truly lost a GREAT American Hero. Melissa,Morgan and Garrett.

I am deeply saddened over the loss of a truly great person "Uncle Ed" as we called him, and he nicknamed me "Turtle." He was a very important part of our lives, and I am truly grateful for all the wonderful memories we had together.

I served with Ed at the Springfield Base. "Doc" as we called him was always looking out for his troops. He was a good sergeant and a good man. That combination is rarely found. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
