News Death Notice
STRAIT, Eric Lee 46, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 2, 2015. He was born July 25, 1969 in Springfield, OH to Vernon "Dick" and Sally (Stroup) Strait. Eric graduated from Shawnee High School and Ohio University. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in Desert Storm. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Christie (William) Forbes II, and Wendy (John) Mahar; nieces Amanda (Lance) Piper and Lucy & Steven Timko; great niece, Layla Morgan Piper; great nephew, Colton Piper; many cousins; and special aunt, Joyce Brown. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff; and grandparents, Robert and Betty Stroup, and Cleo and Lucille Strait. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-7 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Interment will be held in Vale Cemetery.

I was at work last night going through my contact on FB and said let me hit Eric up since I had not heard from him in a while. I was sadden to read that Eric had passed away. I start crying instantly, Eric was a good guy. We worked together at Siemens Business Services in Mason, Ohio. We became pretty close. I am so sorry I wasn't able to view his body. Meet Eric at Ft.Riley Kansas.We Were lifeguards together and friends.I've recently
Reconnected with him on Facebook and spent hours talking on the phone.Had plans to meet up again and never did I feel for his family and I have just lost a friend.I love you Eric my brother from another mother.
