Family-Placed Obituary


HUMPHREY, Floyd 73, of Springfield, Ohio, departed this life on Saturday, January 15, 2005 in his home in Springfield, Ohio. He was born on December 31, 1931 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Walter and Cora Bell (Bright) Humphrey. Floyd was a retired Cement Finisher and served in the United States Army for 13 years receiving an Honorable Discharge. He leaves to cherish his memory four brothers, Harry (Ozella) Humphrey, Willard (Penny) Humphrey, Sherman (Gwendolyn) Humphrey, all of Springfield, Ohio and Rufus (Diane) Humphrey, of Orlando, Florida; two very special friends, Chris "Earrs" whom he was like a son to Floyd and Jerry, and a host of nieces, nephews and many other special friends. His parents, Walter and Cora Bell Humphrey; one daughter, Leah Humphrey; three sisters, Arebia Humphrey, Catherine Curry and Helen Burnett; four brothers, Wendel, Earl, Millard, Allen and Arthur E. Humphrey preceded him in death. Visitation will be held Monday, January 24, 2005 from 11am-12 noon at PORTER-QUALLS FUNERAL HOME SPRINGFIELD CHAPEL, with the family present. Funeral Service will follow visitation at 12 noon with Rev. Clara Boyd Williams, officiating. Burial will follow services in Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. Arrangements provided by the Porter-Qualls Funeral Home.
