News Death Notice

BLAIN, Gary S. 64, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in The Ohio State University Hospital. He was born on April 10, 1951 in Springfield, the son of David and Clara Martha (Heidler) Blain. He retired from Navistar after 25 years of service. Gary enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, golf, and spending time with his brothers. He always liked to go watch his grandkids sporting events. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol Blain of Springfield. Carol and Gary were in grade school together and Carol said in the 5th grade that she was going to marry Gary. He is also survived by his son, Gary L. Blain of Springfield, daughter, Laura Kerns of Springfield, three grandchildren: LeAnna Blain, and Bailey and Kaylee Kerns; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and James Coe of Springfield, two brothers: Stephen L. and Nancy Blain of Springfield, Richard K. and Gloria Blain of Springfield, two sisters-in-law: Barbara Ann Blain of South Carolina, and Pilar Blain of California; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: David S. Blain and James R. Blain. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
