Helen Keating Obituary
News Death Notice
KEATING, Helen C. 83, of Springfield passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born December 20, 1927 in Springfield, the daughter of Roger and Dorothy (Krueger) Wheldon. Helen loved baking Christmas cookies, going to Indian Lake, Saturday excursions, wintering in Florida and Meadow Lake. Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Steve) Call of Springfield; two sons, Larry (Kathi) Keating of Lakeview, Ohio and Steve Keating and special friend Linda Whipple both of Lakeview, Ohio; special sister, Joann (John) Steinhauer of Springfield; one brother, Jim Wheldon of Florida; five grandchildren, Aimee (Scott) Stitt, Angie Keating, Connie (John) Christian and their mother Joyce Keating, Jason Keating and Cora (Jeremy) Rinehart; eight great grandchildren, Kodi, Nick, Courtney, Marita, Jacob, Chloe, Emma and Jarrett and special pet companion, Maggie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elwood K. Keating and brother, Frank Wheldon. The family would like to give a special thanks to the SRMC Staff in the Cardiac ICU, Angie, Kelly, Chrissy, Ariel, Kathy and Ashley. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 from noon-2 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Vale Cemetery. You may express condolences to the family at www.littletonandrue.com

Karen, I know this will be hard for you. Not only did you loose your shopping buddy, but your mom. Your bond with your mom created lots of memories, they will help you through this. Your mom was a very nice lady and I'm just not saying that because she sent me cookie's on my birthday or should I say our birthday. Your entire familly is in my prayers. God Bless Linda Szempruch
