News Death Notice

METHVEN, Jack 79, loving husband and wonderful father, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, June 18, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Tottenham, London, England on October 2, 1932, the son of the late James and Lillian (Hawkins) Methven. Jack served in the Royal Air Force for four years. He married Audrey R. Burkett on September 3, 1955 and with the first three of their five children, emigrated to the U.S. in 1965. He retired as scheduling supervisor from Babcock & Wilcox in 1981 and later retired as production manager for the Union County MRDD in 1997. Jack was a natural born engineer and inventor, was a musician and songwriter, and loved spending time with his family. He attended the Salvation Army both in the U.S. and England. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Audrey; five children, Jackie (Lew), Angela (Michael), Margaret (Harry), Julie (Dave), and James; six grandchildren, Lindsay, Shelly, Lilly, Davie, Ella, and Olivia; three sisters, Jean, Margaret and Carol; two brothers, Reg and Les; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy. A private family service will be observed. The LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
