James A. DELLINGER

DELLINGER, James A. "Jim" Passed away December 2, 2016 after a long illness. He is in a good place now and happy with his son, Andy. Jim was born in Urbana, as a twin, February 1, 1947, to John Arthur and Marjory (Ward) Dellinger. Jim served in Viet Nam in the USAF, and retired from the Springfield Air National Guard. He loved working with the jets and all the friends he made with the Guard unit. His job took him to Germany, England, Turkey, Panama, Louisiana and his favorite, Tucson, Arizona. As a veteran, Jim was a member of the VFW Post 5451, the American Legion Post 120 and Amvets. Jim didn't know a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He had a full life loving his family and was so proud of all of his boys and the good men they had become. He loved playing golf, bowling and get-togethers with friends and family. Jim will be missed by so many people, especially his wife of 41 years, Bonnie. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; son Andy; baby girl Dellinger; a sister, Ann Dellinger Tinsley; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Louise Zeigler Mahan and Bill Mahan; and a very dear friend, Jerry Campbell. Jim is survived by his wife, Bonnie Mahan Dellinger; twin brother John Dellinger; sons Josh Dellinger and Tony Watson (wife Andrea Daniels Watson); grandchildren Madyson, Pryce & Rayce Watson; brother-in-law Jack Tinsley; sister-in-law Sharan (Frank) Isabelle; sister-in-law Billie Mahan (Tim) Biddle; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016 in the WALTER & STOWE FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Keith Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Andy Dellinger Memorial Scholarship Fund entrusted to Peoples Savings Bank, 10 Monument Square, Urbana, OH 43078.
