BUROKER, Janet Sewell Once diagnosed with cancer eight years ago, Janet Sewell Buroker never gave up. She maintained a brave and cheerful outlook of an optimistic future - even through countless procedures, chemotherapy treatments, hospitalization and pain. She continued to be a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Janet died on April 19 2015 at her daughter's home in Dallas TX after her long struggle with cancer. She was born September 29th 1933 and grew up in Enon Ohio, the daughter of Delmer and Georgia Anna (Wolfe) Hill. Janet attended Enon High School before attending Miami Jacobs, where she studied bookkeeping. She then went on to work for First National Bank of Fairborn OH, Guardian Bank (now Security Bank) of Springfield OH and Sewell Motor Express of Wilmington OH. During her professional career she served as the CEO of Sewell Motor Express and was one time President of the Women's Division of the American Trucking Association. Family and friends were Janet's passion and delight. She loved to host and entertain family picnics, Thanksgiving, Christmas and 4th of July celebrations. She looked forward to shopping with her daughters and grandchildren and spoiling them. Janet always displayed her sense of style and grace to everyone she met. Before her illness, Janet loved to travel. Besides her fond memories of Sarasota Florida, she had also enjoyed going to the New England states with her husband Bob. Her travels also took her to Europe, Africa, Mexico, Canada and Hawaii. Janet was a member of Grace Luther Church of Springfield Ohio. She was also a past member of Faith Lutheran Church when she lived in Wilmington Ohio. Other memberships included the Springfield Country Club, Snow Hill Country Club, Long Boat Key Club, the Bird Key Yacht Club, Women's Town Club of Springfield and The Wittenberg Guild. Also, an avid reader, Janet was a member of the Wednesday Book Club in Wilmington and the Springfield Book Club. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 14 years Bob Buroker; three daughters, Deborah (Michael) Gibson, Robin (Dana) Pursley and Leslie (Robert) Williams; one son Jay (Dana) Sewell; ten grandchildren, Lauren, Ross, Jennifer, Christopher, Rachael, Rebecca, Megan, Madeline, Jacob and Austin and three great-grandchildren, Silas, Anna Sophia and Victor; brother, Delmer (Rita) Hill; three sisters, Sonja (Tom) Hoefling, Sandra Turner and Cheryl (Charlie) Cooke; two sisters-in-law, Betty and Ann Hill. Janet is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Howard Sewell Jr.; parents, Delmer and Georgia Hill; two brothers, Charles "Chuck" and Larry Hill; sister, Candace "Candy" Hixson and brother-in- law, Elliott Turner. Janet's life will be celebrated with family and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME in Springfield OH. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1801 St. Paris Pike with Pastor Beverly DeBord officiating.
