News Death Notice
O'CONNOR, John W. age 56, of Enon, passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 in Heartland of Springfield. Born on March 2, 1956 in Springfield, John was a son of the late Wesley G. O'Connor. His mother, Ellen M. (Penwell) O'Connor survives in Springfield. John is also survived by three children: Jennifer (Ian) Lochner, John B. O'Connor and Kyle O'Connor, all of Springfield; two grandchildren: Dylan and Addison O'Connor, of Springfield, his siblings: Michael (Rhonda) O'Connor of DeGraff, Gail Michael of Springfield, Cindy (Ralph) Foster of St. Paris; and six nieces and nephews: Amanda and Michael O'Connor of DeGraff, Sara and Emily Nave of St. Paris, and Trisha and Justin Michael, Springfield. He will be sadly missed by his girlfriend, Janene Edinger of Enon, and special friends, Judy, Jack, Dean, Bill, Big Red, and many others who helped and supported him through his journey. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents, and brother-in-law, James E. Nave. John was formerly employed at Trupointe Cooperative, Medway. His interests included Garden Tractor Pulling. He won many trophies and awards. Most treasured was the Hillard-Columbus Winter Championship. He belonged to the Southwest Ohio Garden Tractor Pullers, Western Ohio Garden Tractor Pullers, East Central Indiana Garden Tractor Pullers, and the Hilliard Garden Tractor Pullers. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, Ohio with burial to follow in Newson Cemetery, Cowpath Road, St. Paris. Visitation for family and friends will be held 2 hours prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association Ohio Division, Southwest Region, 2808 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206. Envelopes will be available in the funeral home. I was so saddened to hear that John passed away. My memory was always one of me thinking he was one of the three musketeers, silly I know. My heart is heavy for my dear great Aunt Ellen who I know must be suffering terribly. Cindy, Gail and Michael I am so sorry for the loss of a great brother. Love and miss you all.
