News Death Notice

STAPLETON, Kenneth J. 68, of Springfield, passed away at 9:30PM Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born April 5, 1942 in Lawrenceville, the son of James J. and Alta Irene (Hall) Stapleton. Mr. Stapleton attended the Lawrenceville Church of God and was retired from Carmichael Machine Shop following 43 years of service. Survivors include his wife; Patricia J. (Rust) Stapleton, three sons; Michael (Val) Stapleton, Woodstock, Ohio, William A. Rust, Springfield, Joseph L. (Tara) Lafferty, Lima, Ohio, two grandchildren; Breanna Stapleton and Ella Marie Lafferty, one brother; Virgil Stapleton, Huber Heights, one sister; Martha Irene Clark, Springfield, a niece; Kimberly (Jeff) Boggs, Springfield and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Thelma Sellars. Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Saturday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Alan Cain officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Vale Cemetery.
