News Death Notice
STEVENSON, Margaret F. (Frey) 92, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday morning, November 11, 2014 in Essex of Springfield. She was born in Urbana, Ohio on July 1, 1922, the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Chavers) Frey. Margaret worked as a teller for Springfield Federal Savings for 31 years. She was a member of the "Retirement Set" and volunteered at Mercy Medical Center. She is survived by two nieces, Kathleen Carr of Springfield and Mary Thornton of Dayton; great nieces, Veronica Alati, Angela (Gale) Pace and Bernadette Miller; three great-great nieces, Jessica Carr, Hadley Pace and Hanna Pace; her childhood friend, Margie Johnson; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Stevenson; a sister, Joan Mitchell in 2011; and two brothers, Henry Frey Jr. and Robert Hood. Margaret's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
