Martha SEVERS Obituary
News Death Notice
SEVERS, Martha L. "Tiny" Age 79, of Lawrenceville passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 in her residence. She was born February 25, 1934 in Madison County, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Kelly) Weese. She was a member of the North Hampton Community Church for many years. Tiny was a volunteer dispatcher for the German Township Fire Department and founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her cake decorating and catering. Tiny loved her family and her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Survivors include her daughter, Sue (Jeff) Butterfield of Springfield; two sons, Bob (Beth) Severs of Columbus and Dick (Linda) Severs of Springfield; three sisters, Sarah Jane Cater, Judy (Andy) Anderson and Connie (Chuck) Sherrick; six grandchildren, Karl J. (Brandy) Severs, Keith (Rachael) Severs, Tara (Jesse) Corns, Stacie Severs, Katelyn and Lindsey Butterfield; great-granddaughter, Alexis Corns and numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 49 years, Robert Carl Severs in August of 2002; three sisters, Ginny, Becky and Mary; five brothers, Bob, Carl, Donnie, Lester and Charles and great-granddaughter, Maya Brynn Corns. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service, in the North Hampton Community Church, 110 Community Drive, North Hampton, Pastor Jim Welch will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceville Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the North Hampton Community Church or German Township Fire and EMS Department. I grew up in Lawrenceville, was one of the early volunteer squad members for what is now the German Twp FD with Carl and delivered the Spfld News Sun every morning to Tiny and Carl. So sadden by her passing and sorry I have not stayed in touch. She was always a bright smile in my day as a kid growing up and learning how neighbors should be. It is a remarkable family you have. Sue, your mom gave me the example of who I want to be. I loved every moment I spent with her as a teenager and young adult coming over with my own children.

Sue, I will greatly miss Martha. She baked me a cake when Bob, my husband, and I got married. I have known Martha and Carl since you were a youngster. You will be in my prayers.

I haven't seen Tiny in many years but always enjoyed her and Carl at the Fair and when they had their food booth at the horse shows. They were both very special people.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember as a child the great fun we would have at the 50-50 dances with your parents, the fun at the fair in 4H and all the horsing around. She will be missed she was/is a very special lady.
