Michelle Walls Obituary
Family-Placed Obituary
WALLS, Michelle C. "Shelley" went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday Morning, January 5, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on June 1, 1954 to the late David L. Walls and Martha E. (Lyons) Walls. Michelle was a member of El Bethel temple for many years and played the piano and served on the Usher Board. Later she became a member of World Harvest Church in Columbus, Ohio where she served as a Prayer Counselor. At an early age she played with the Springfield Youth Symphony and then the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Michelle was awarded a position in the Orchestra as the Principal Contrabassist for many years. Michelle taught music in the Dayton Public Schools and Retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Michelle is survived by her mother, Martha E. Walls and her aunts, uncles, and many special cousins and friends. Michelle was preceded in death by her father, David L. Walls. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 11 a.m. at El Bethel Temple, 2049 Clifton Avenue, Springfield, Ohio; with the family present. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon; with Bishop Lawyer Walls, officiating. Interment will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Final tribute is a service of the PORTER-QUALLS FUNERAL HOME Springfield Chapel.

Dear Martha,
Shelley was my closest friend through most of elementary school and all of "junior High". I was so lucky to have had her and you during those years. I only hope my daughter will find such a funny, smart, musical friend as she was to me. This is stirring up a lot of really great memories.

Michelle and I worked together many years ago at WPAFB. Michelle was a wonderful person with an amazing spirit and strong belief in God. I will truly miss her. I met Michelle about 20 years ago and worked with her for several years at WPAFB in bldg one. I always felt a special camaraderie with her as a fellow musician. I know the gift of music gave her great joy. She had a wonderful "dry" sense of humor that always made the daily challenges seem easier. My condolences to her friends and loved ones in her passing.

You have my deepest sympathy. I came to your house several years ago and brought a cheer basket to Michelle from the workers in Building 1 contracting (procurement). My last name was Rafferty then, however, I lost my husband to cancer in 1997. Have comfort in knowing that Michelle is with the Lord and not suffering any more.
