Family-Placed Obituary


CASTLE, Rex A. 52, of Mechanicsburg passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2006 in his residence following several months of failing health. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on October 25, 1954, the son of Jakey and Ivory E. (Stapleton) Castle, Jr. He was a 1973 graduate of Springfield South High School. When he was well Rex enjoyed umpiring, coaching softball and bowling. He had a very special place in his heart for the Mechanicsburg Athletics Department and Boosters, especially running the clock at the basketball games, which he did this past Saturday. In his spare time he loved to play Texas Hold'em. Rex was also a member of the DAV. Rex has left many people to cherish his memory including his father, Jakey Castle of Springfield; his wife, Caryn (Maynard) Castle, whom he married October 15, 1983; two daughters, Kathryn and Amanda Castle all of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Tim & Deb Castle of LaVergne, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Todd & Candy Maynard; sister-in-law, Catherine & David Craycraft both of Springfield; part time daughter, Andrea Jones; practice grandson, Brendon Stewart both of Mutual; mother-in-law, Margarget & Keith Kreager; father-in-law, Jim & Janie Maynard and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother. Friends and family may call Sunday from 2-8 p.m. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A celebration of Rex's life will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the memorial home with Rev. Wayne Frost officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends and family may call Sunday from 2-8 p.m. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Memorial contributions may be sent to Champaign National Bank in Rex's name to help the family with funeral expenses.
