Richard COMBS Obituary
News Death Notice
COMBS, Richard Eugene 88, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, May 05, 2016 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 20, 1927, in Springfield the son of the late Howard S. and Oliveta P. Combs. Richard graduated from Springfield High School class of 1947 and served our country in the United States Army. He retired from Navistar in 1988. He was member of St. Andrews Lodge 619 F. & A.M. and Neal Chapter #522 O.E.S. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Becky (Steve) Raiff of Springfield, four grandchildren: Katelyn Raiff, Brian (Debbie) Raiff, Chris (Natalie) Raiff, and Ryan Raiff; four great grandchildren, and one brother, John Combs of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn 2008, and sister, Judy Griffin, and brother, Charles Combs. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 5-7:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Lodge services will begin at 7:00 p.m. following visitation. The service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Joel Augustus officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
