Robert DUNN Obituary
News Death Notice
DUNN, Robert E. 90, of Springfield, died March 29, 2014 in his residence. He was born November 3, 1923 in Springfield, OH to Joseph and Anna Dunn. Bob retired from the City of Springfield from the maintenance department. Bob was a beloved father and grandfather who was cherished by all. Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Flora and Jack Hughes, Venice, FL and Becky and Jim Picolo, Springfield; grandchildren, Andrea Davis, Lynne (Mike) Diedrich, Tom (Teresa) Speros, John, Molly and Doug Wagner, Jim (Amy) Picolo, Dan (Jennifer) Picolo, Karen Felty, Mike (Stacey) Picolo, Nick Picolo, and Jennifer (Toby) Hayden; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; three nephews, Kevin and Stephen Dunn and Tom Schutte and niece, Carol Pollock. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline in 2013, a son, John Wagner, three brothers, Joseph, Paul and Thomas; sisters Anne Marie Schutte and Katherine Dunn; and a nephew, Randy Dunn. The family would like to express their appreciation to Sharon Rife for her loving care. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Community Mercy Hospice

Robert--or Bobby as he was known to me--was a lovely welcoming person--cheerful and considerate. Bobby was a first cousin--the son of Aunt Anna (Kloepfer) Dunn. Though he was ten years older than me, he chatted with me when I was a child as if he was a classmate. He was loved by all who knew him and certainly by my many brothers and sisters and mother and father. Though I had not seen Bobby for many years, memories of him are still quite vivid and lovely. May he rest in peace and glory.
