Robert Frey Obituary
News Death Notice
FREY, Robert E. 80, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly, Friday afternoon, February 17, 2012 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Arkansas on January 13, 1932, the son of the late Rudolph and Ethel (Dye) Frey. Bob was a U. S. Army World War II veteran and retired as a machinist from Kelsey-Hayes SPECO. He also worked as a furniture upholsterer for over 50 years. He is survived by two sons, Curt Frey and Terry Frey, both of Springfield; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Lapp, Chris (Amanda) Frey, Jeremy Frey, Amanda (Bryan) Burgert, and Cody Frey; and eleven great grandchildren, Adreana, Zane, Elijah, Aalyiah, Jayden, Alanna, Xyiluss, Gavin, Landon, Tara, and Tessa. Also surviving are three sisters, Hazel Donovan of Springfield, Margaret Day of Florida, and Diane; three brothers, Bill (Marie) Frey of Springfield, Johnny Frey of Texas, and David Frey of Miamisburg; a niece, Rhonda (Dale) Gram of North Carolina; many other nieces and nephews; and former daughter-in-law, Kari Risley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene (Hockett) Frey in 2010; a sister, Rosemarie; two brothers, Jim and Tom Frey; and a niece, Cheryl Detrick. I love you so so much granpa! You are and will always be one of the greatest men in my life. Im gonna miss your funny jokes you heard on the radio, me and you planting the flowers and talking about nothing at all. You give granma all my love! Cant wait to be with you all one day!

I am sorry for your loss.Bob covered my furniture before I moved to Louisville in 1985 and it looks as good today as it did when he first did it .He was a delight to work with. May he rest in peace.
