Robert Rogers Obituary
News Death Notice
ROGERS, Robert L. 82 of Jeffersonville formerly of Springfield went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2012 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in New Vienna, Ohio on May 25, 1929, the son of Wilbur and Marie Rogers. Robert served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors. He had been a member of First Christian Church of Springfield for 43 years and the last several years the Grape Grove Church of Christ, Jamestown. Robert was also a member of Anthony Lodge #455 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine, Palestine Commandery #33, Shawnee Chapter #237 Royal Arch Masons, and the Springfield Council #17. In his spare time he loved collecting antique tractors. Survivors include his wife Betty L. Rogers of Jeffersonville; sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Michelle Rogers of Cedarville and David and Dawn Rogers of Springfield; daughter and son-in-law Vickie and John Gordon of Phoenix, AZ; sister Shirley Williamson and brother in law Waldo Williamson both of Xenia; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends Dale and Norma Smith of Jamestown. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Delores Rogers. Family and friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Masonic memorial services at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Bill Lott of Grape Grove Church of Christ officiating. Memorial contributions are requested to Shriner's Children Hospitals. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com
