Stephen Macomber Obituary

Stephen Dennis Macomber, of Magalia, California, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2005, at the age of 56. He was born on December 9, 1948, in Sacramento, California. After graduating from high school, Steve entered the U.S. Army where he served from 1969-1970 as a Refrigeration Specialist in Viet Nam. Steve was blessed with incredible artistic talents. There wasn't anything he couldn't figure out how to make or fix. He used his creative abilities in the areas of designing, engineering, welding, computer graphics and oil painting. In the 1980's Steve pioneered some pyrotechnics that are now being used in fireworks' shows around the world. Most recently, Steve was a stained glass artist and fabricator with Devereaux Architectural Glass in Chico, California, where he completed many large stained glass windows that are installed throughout the United States. Steve was a quiet man who will be greatly missed by his wife of 31 years, Willa, and three children, Greta, Aaron and Megan. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Ileen and Jerry Ford of Placerville, CA, as well as two sisters, Kathleen Thomas of Lodi, CA, Patricia Peck of Placerville, CA, and a brother, Keith Macomber of Rancho Murieta, CA.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 11 at 2 p.m. at Rose Chapel in Paradise.
