News Death Notice
ATKINS, Victoria Lynn (Gaston) 61, of Springfield, Oh departed this life on Saturday January 2, 2010 in Mercy St. Johns Center. She was born August 16, 1948. She graduated from Springfield South High School. Vickie worked for Olan Mills for 21 years and then began working for Mercy St. John for 7 years. She leaves to cherish precious memories her two daughters Christayle Lynnett Oliver, Tonya Lorrain (Jimmy) Cole, one son Stacy L. (Misty) Gaston, one sister Lucrita A. (Larry) Kemp, two brothers, Dale La Verne (Kay) Gaston and Chester "Corky" ( Sharon) Cole; four aunts Elizabeth ( Smith) Daniels, Florence Harrison, Irene Davenport, Bernidine ( Gaston) Greene, 10 special grandchildren, special cousin Darragh L (Gaston) Humphrey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis Gaston Jr. and Selena (Higginbotham) Cole. Service for Victoria Lynn Atkins will be held Thursday January 21, 2010 at Porter-Qualls Funeral Home 823 S. Yellow Springs Street Springfield, Oh. Visitation will be held at 9:00am until time of service which will be at 10:00am with Reverend Dr. John E. Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, Oh. Arrangements entrusted to Porter-Qualls Funeral Home.

i work with vicki at olan mills. she was a ball of fire. she was proud of her kids and talk about them good and bad but love you aLL . she always take care of herself. she is in a better place now. linda haggy

i sat by Vicki at Olan Mills. She was a spit fire, but such a sweet lady. SHe taught me alot about life. SOmeone i will never forget. I am blessed to have known her. SHe brought alot of laughs.

To know Vicki was to know a true and tine tested friend. She looked at life with a whole hearted smile. She will be missed more than I can say. Be resured that Jesus knew when she could bare no more and took her in his loving arms and gave her peace.
