Dorothea M. Ryan
Dorothea M. "Dot" Ryan, 81, of Jensen Beach, FL, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at the Brookdale Senior Living Center, Jensen Beach, FL.
She was born December 24, 1936, in Stamford, CT, the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Dorothea E. (White) Ryan Sr.. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford and from Katherine Gibbs School in New York City. She was a long time resident of Stamford, relocating to Lake Worth, FL, in 2012, to be near her sister, Mary Pryor.
Prior to her retirement in June of 1998, Dot was employed as the Executive Assistant to the School Superintendent for the City of Stamford Board of Education for 25 years.
She was a long time Parishoner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Stamford, as well as a member of their Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Stamford.
Dot is survived by her sister, Mary Pryor of Royal Palm Beach, FL; her sister-in-law, Geraldine Ryan of West Nyack, NY; 15 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas F. Ryan Jr. of West Nyack, NY, and a sister, Elizabeth Bird of Apollo Beach, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date in St. Mary's Church, with burial in St. John's Cemetery.
The Aycock Funeral Home, 505 S. Federal Highway, Stuart, FL, 34994, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
