Elizabeth Ryan Obituary
1959-2025
Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Ryan, 65 passed peacefully on 4/4/25. She lived a very happy life, even though it was filled with many challenges. Those challenges never defined her, nor stopped her from doing anything she set her mind to do. She lived her life to the fullest. Taught us all the definition of strength and determination. All the while with a beautiful smile on her face.
She competed in the Special Olympics for numerous years in swimming, bowling, bocce, golf, track and field. Highlights include competing in the International Games in 1975 held in Michigan and being inducted into the CT Special Olympics Hall of Fame in 2006.
Libby loved to party, dance and share meals with family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Don and Peg Ryan, in addition to her sister Donna. Surviving her are her sister Patty (Mike) Reed, brother John (Lisa) Ryan, nephew Ryan (Abby) Reed and numerous cousins, who will miss her dearly.
Calling hours will be at Leo P Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St. Stamford, CT on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 4:00PM-7:30PM. A Service will be held at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home on Friday , April 11, 2025 at 10:30AM. Friends are invited to gather at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered at www.leopgallagherstamford.com

so sorry to hear of libby's passing.. i was her driver for ARI for 7 years.. we had nicknames for everyone on the bus,. she was libby on the label & i was coo koo.. she always had a smile that would light you up.. may she rest in peace at god's side.

We are so saddened to have lost our dear friend Libby, or "Elizabeth" as Mark calls her. She and your family have been in our lives for more than 50 years.
