Eric W. Hagendoorn, 28, passed away at home on July 17th. Eric was born in Stamford and was a lifelong resident.
Eric graduated from Stamford High School and attended the University of Colorado. He worked in the family insurance business. He grew to look at life in a creative, unique way, with laser focus. He excelled at youth sports and later in life grasped an incredible love and talent for music. He was an avid skateboarder, snowboarder and loved to fish. Eric's best memories were always that of attending concerts with his best friend and brother Ben.
Eric walked to the beat of a different drum and was proud of it. Eric brought joy and humor to all he touched and will be forever remembered.
Eric is survived by his father, Bert Hagendoorn of Stamford, his mother, Edie Sutton of Danbury, his brother, Benjamin Hagendoorn of Danbury, his sister, Isabella Hagendoorn and stepsister, Nicole Doening, as well as his stepmother, Edyta Hagendoorn of Stamford, his grandmother, Virginia Fiordelisi and step-grandfather, Salvatore Fiordelisi, both of Fairfield. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Laurie and Angelo Melisi of Norwalk, Suzanne and Michael Landino of Milford, Ann Baldassare of Shelton, John and Tracy Sutton of Oro Valley, AZ, David and Chantel Sutton of Castres, France, cousins, Stephen and Daniel Chase, as well as many other cousins.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
