James Moriarty Obituary

James P. Moriarty
A light went out in the world on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
James P. Moriarty surrendered his spirit after a valiant fight for life post-major heart surgery. His love of life and will to live was superseded only by the incredible joy he took being with family and friends.
One of four brothers and six sisters, son of Ita and James P. Moriarty, MD, he had recently retired with his wife, Lisa (Lynch) Moriarty, to their new home in Delaware. Their only son, James Moriarty, resides in San Diego, CA and was at his father's bedside with his mother until the end.
He was predeceased by his parents, and sisters, Mary Beth Moriarty and Frances Kirkland. He is survived by his brothers, Patrick (Barbara) of Waterbury, CT, Daniel (Virginia) of Belmar, NJ, Dennis (Gwen) of Lewes, Delaware; and sisters, Ita Moriarty and Colleen Moriarty of Miami, Florida, and Theresa Moriarty and Alice Moriarty of Naugatuck, CT.
Many cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as a number of close friends, share deeply in this loss.
A 1972 graduate of Stamford Catholic High School, Jim attended Fordham University with a concentration in Marketing and Economics.
For more than 40 years, Jim enjoyed a successful career in sales and sales management, consistently ranked in the top nationally, first with Pitney Bowes, followed by Quadient.
There will be no calling hours. A day celebrating Jim's life will be privately held, at the family's convenience.

Lisa and son Jim: I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was so kind, friendly and funny. He was always kind to me in high school. Although he made me a receiver on the girls football team! I took great pride in being his partner in crime at the Willow Inn. I pray the Lord keep you, Jimmy and I ask that He bless your family.
love you buddy!

Jimmy, I can't believe you are gone. I am going to miss you so much. I will miss you always cheerful voice, the joy of sharing Jame's successes, the love and friendship you shared with Lisa-- and of course-- all the old Stamford nights together will make me smile through my tears. Lisa and James-- I send you love and healing energy to survive this unimaginable loss. I love you Jimmy. Thanks for being my friend. A big hug and so much love.

Sad to have recently learned of Jim´s passing. We worked together at Pitney Bowes when we were both District Directors. I always enjoyed our conversations and Jim´s humor! He was a hard worker who always cared for those who worked both for him and with him and did so with integrity.
He had great love for his family and without a doubt will be missed by all he knew him.
My condolences to Dennis and the entire family.
RIP Jim.

Jimmy was such a great role model and inspiration for me when I first started working with him at Quadient. He quickly became my benchmark for success and we always had a friendly competitive banter for the years that we worked together. Lisa I am so sorry for your loss and we truly enjoyed meeting you at dinner in Aruba. The love that you and Jimmy had for each other was inspiring. Your family will be in our prayers.

To Jim's family, my deepest sympathy. To Jimmy, thank you for all the tips you gave me when I first started at PB, for all the laughs, and "pontificating" discussions we had. You were always a true leader and caring manager. Although I didn't see you for a long time, in my heart, you always were and will be one of the best guys I ever met! RIP, Jimmy.

I had the pleasure of getting the opportunity of working with Jimmy at Quadient. He was one of the most kind, hardworking, and joyful persons, I have ever met. He was a salt of the Earth person that was one of the first to congratulate me and lift me up. Playing golf and dining with some wine will forever be cherished memories with Jimmy. You are deeply missed and in our thoughts and prayers.

I met Jim in Oct of 1983. I was a new salesman for Pitney Bowes and Jim was one of the very first people to welcome me to our New York uptown office. Jim was kind, generous with his time and had a great sense of humor. Quick to laugh and find the irony in any situation Jim was a delight to be around. We became fast friends and our careers intersected across the years. I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing. I know that everyone who new him will feel his loss profoundly. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends, he left us way to soon.
