Linda Fiorito Obituary

Linda S. Fiorito
Linda S. Fiorito, 70, a former resident of Stamford, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Linda was born in Stamford on January 7, 1955, daughter of the late Wallace and Maria Farina Stewart.
Linda was an operating room nurse at Yale New Haven for 30+ years, who dedicated her life to caring for others, she was so passionate, and nursing was more than a job, it was her calling. Linda worked as a nurse until her sudden passing. Beyond nursing, she enjoyed nothing more than being a devoted grandmother to her two granddaughters, gardening, cooking, making her homemade sauce, and being with her beloved dog, Zara.
Linda is survived by her loving daughters, Elise and Victoria Fiorito both of Milford, her cherished granddaughters, Stassi and Alexandra Arvanitakis.
She's also survived by her sister, Cora Martino and her husband Gino, her twin sister, Patricia Stewart of Stamford, her brother, Robert Stewart, along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, with a prayer service to be held at 3:00pm.

Linda was my neighbor when I was growing up and she looked out for me and and welcomed me into her life where I played with her kids and was invited along to do stuff with her. She did not encourage me to be a nurse, however she was unsuccessful and I ended up working at Yale, where I´d hang out with her on breaks.

I truly adored her and will always remember her fondly. I´m so sorry to hear that she passed away. Love and hugs to Elise and Victoria and the whole family.

Many years have passed, and different paths taken. I remember Linda, who was part of my family structure, as always being beautiful, smart, loving, engaging and always in good humor. She was a favorite family member for me personally. Patty, Cora, and Bobby, Elise and Victoria, I am so very sorry for you, your immediate family, and all the rest of us who knew her, that she has left this world. It's so very sad and she will be missed, but she will always have a special place in our hearts and in Heaven.
