So sorry for your loss Peter as well as the rest of your family. Your dad was one of the few who spent the time with his patients and made you feel like you were the only one. I was prescribed my first pair of glasses in 10th grade and I couldn't believe that there were individual leaves on the trees instead of just a bunch. Praying for comfort for your family and memories to keep your dad always close in your heart.

Dr. LaForte was my eye doctor from when I was a child until my mid 30's when I moved away. He was both skilled and caring, and always took the time to answer my questions. My mom, a nurse, actually worked with him at Brooklyn Hospital in the 1950's. God bless you and rest in peace, Dr. LaForte.
