Robert Eberhardt Obituary

Robert John Eberhardt
Robert John Eberhardt "Bob," age 94, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2024 after a brief fight with lung cancer. Bob was born on September 14, 1929 in Stamford and was a son of Estelle and William Eberhardt. He spent most of his life as a Stamford resident, where he and his wife of 51 years, Anna Reinholt Eberhardt raised their family.
Bob served in the Army National Guard 192nd FA BN, during the Korean War, and was stationed in Bad Tolz, Germany. It was there that Bob learned the love of cooking and serving crowds, which was one of his great joys throughout life. He loved music and favorites were Country and Western and Gospel music. He sang in many choirs and we fondly remember lots of singing in the house. Bob was an avid collector and treasure hunter and loved a great tag sale and could never pass up a good deal!
Bob worked for Capital Magnetics (formerly Audio Tape Company) for 25 years. He then owned and operated with Ann a diner in Glenbrook known as Ebbey's for 5 years.
In his later years, Bob was the sexton/handyman/food coordinator for Evangelical Community Church for almost 20 years. He loved serving the Lord and his church family in this capacity. In addition, he and Ann participated in numerous mission trips to Costa Rica and the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, where they served the Lord building and renovating churches.
Bob and Ann loved to travel and visited 48 of the 50 states in their motor home, visiting family across the country and exploring all that this beautiful country has to offer.
He is survived by his three daughters, Sue Calcott (Jeff) of Stamford, Deborah Eberhardt (Art Lavery) of Riverside and Nancy Parks of Bailey, CO. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Michael Molloy (Rebecca), Kaitlyn Parks, Chelsea Parks and two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Sage Molloy.
The family would like to thank the staff at Constellation Hospice care, especially Donna and Brian, for their compassion and support. A memorial gathering to celebrate Bob's life will be held in the Spring.
