Robert Fink Obituary
August 15, 2022
Robert Charles Fink, 61, formerly of Stamford, CT and New York City, died August 15th in Raleigh, NC of heart failure. He had relocated to Raleigh just prior to the pandemic for a fresh start.
Robert was born March 10, 1961 in White Plains, New York to Harold and Lois Fink. He attended the Stamford public schools and Elmira College. After college, Robert worked for the Stamford Advocate as a sports reporter and then went on to careers in the textiles industry and corporate rewards.
Robert had a terrific sense of humor and was always at the ready with a joke or a Kermit the Frog impersonation. And no one could gobble an ear of corn on the cob in a more entertaining manner than Robert, much to the delight of his nieces and nephews!
Robert was predeceased by his parents. He will be missed by his four older siblings, Martha Kahn, Scott Fink (Kathy Klein), Debra Tomsky (John) and Nancy Benjamin (Brad) as well as his 7 nieces and nephews and 6 great-nieces and nephews.
Shiva will be held outdoors at the home of Nancy and Brad Benjamin, 56 North Lake Drive in Stamford, on Wednesday, August 17th and Thursday, August 18th from 4-8 p.m. with services at 7 p.m. Donations in Robert's memory can be made to The National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI).

I am so sorry to hear of Robert´s passing. We became friends in college and maintained a friendship ever since. Funny, loyal, generous, interested and interesting! He was very proud of his family and that was always apparent. I will miss his humor and friendship! RIP Robert RIP

I knew Rob from King School, going there with him from '73 to '75. Yes, he did have a great sense of humor. He always enjoyed mimicking famous sportscasters like Howard Cosell. May these good memories comfort you in this time of sorrow.

Robert was our next door neighbors for the last 3 years. Every time we passed by his door to leave the apartment building, you could hear hear lively music coming from his apartment. His patio was always full of flowers and had the most beautiful lights to fit every occasion. We´ve shared many conversations in passing over the last few years. Robert and my boyfriend often talked about baseball and the stats of the teams they loved. He was so kind. "Lively" is how we´ve always described him. So full of life and laughter. I last spoke to him only 2 weeks ago and today learned of his passing. Robert will truly be missed so dearly. We´re so thankful for the time and memories we´ve shared with him

This was shocking news to hear. I can't believe that my dear childhood friend has passed. I'm left with so many wonderful memories that will, in time, bring a smile to my face when I think of Robert.
