Mary Favalora Arena

Mary Favalora Arena returned home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the age of 82. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her life. She is survived by her only daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Arena, along with her son-in-law, Robert McGovern Jr. She was the proud grandmother of Shawn McGovern Massey and great-grandson Noah Christopher Massey. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold L. Arena Jr., and her parents, Thomas and Annie Domingues Favalora. Mary was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish where she enjoyed a long and satisfying career as a cafeteria host. She was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother and a friend of many, who loved her Lord and treasured her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, July 3rd from 9:00AM - 11:00AM, followed by a funeral service in Mary's memory beginning at 11:00AM.
