Thomas J. DeCicco, age 82, of Darien, Connecticut, formerly a long-time resident of Stamford
passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Thomas leaves behind son Stephen DeCicco and his wife Roberta of Norwalk; his daughter Patricia DeCicco of Seymour; his daughter Lori DeCicco of Wallingford; his granddaughters Brittney Peacock, Tami Randall, Megan Libby and grandson Kevin DeCicco; his loving companion, Lydia Maffei; and his sister Eleanor Garufi of Stamford as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was the beloved husband of the late Marian (Boyle) DeCicco; son of the late Anthony and Josephine DeCicco. He is predeceased by his brother, Anthony DeCicco and his sisters Frances Mangiat and Pauline Williams.
Born in Mamaroneck, New York, Thomas was a graduate of Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York, and served in the United States Army. Thomas spent many years in retail businesses one of which was a family business, Anthony's Farm Produce in Stamford. He recently retired from working more than thirty years at Four Corner's Wine Shop in Stamford.
Thomas was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who cherished his family and friends. Thomas had a smile for all who came in contact with him and will be greatly missed. He will forever be remembered by all who knew him for his love, generosity and energy. With his endearing spirit he made friends across all ages and walks of life.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 9:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Matthews RC Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John's RC Cemetery, Darien, CT. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
