Walter Croen Obituary
Walter Croen, aged 97, died at his home in Stamford, Connecticut on Monday, August 9th. A loving and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, he is survived by Lila Graubart Croen, his wife of 70 years and his children: Judith Croen, Kenneth and Sindy Croen, Thomas Croen and Lisa Croen Quaid and Susan and Dahni Nisinzweig. His grandchildren are Evan Croen and Katherine Gulick, Eliza and James King, Eytan, Aviv and Yaelle Nisinzweig and Robin and Madeline Croen. Micah James King is his great-grandson.
A WWII veteran, having served in the 84th Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operations, Walter participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was a Purple Heart recipient. He graduated from Williams College in 1948 and spent a career in the apparel and textile industries.
