Anna Gula Obituary

Anna Mary Gula, 95, of Harrisburg and formerly of Hazleton, passed away peacefully Monday at Capital Healthcare Center.

Born in McAdoo on March 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Stachowicz) Sabulsky.

Anna was kind, hardworking, witty and strong. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Polish National Catholic Church, McAdoo. She worked in the area garment industry and treasured her lifelong friendships.

Anna was a devoted and loving wife, mother and "Nan." Her greatest joys were spending time with her family; teaching them how to make traditional polish foods, soups and her famous desserts; traveling the states and Europe; keeping the house tidy; and getting her hair done every Friday.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, George "Corky" Gula; brothers, Stanley, Teddy, Tony, Johnny and twin, Frankie Sabulsky; and sisters, Helen Waskiewicz and Jenny Wawrzonek.

Anna will be forever missed by her daughter, Joann Gula Kell and husband, Harry, Harrisburg; son, George Gula and wife, Susan, Alpharetta, Ga.; the apple of her eye, grandson, Ryan Gula, North Providence, R.I.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ss. Peter and Paul PNC Church, McAdoo. The Rev. Boguslaw Janiec will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo.
