Carole Palermo passed away unexpectedly at the age of 85 in her home on Tuesday.
She was born in Hazleton, where she resided most of her life. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael, and they celebrated more than 50 years together. She leaves behind four children and their spouses, Theresa and Charles Fackenthall, Michael and Michelle Palermo, Tina and Martin Biasi and Jeffrey and Kim Palermo.
She was a loving mother who dedicated a lifetime to her family and was affectionately known as "Grammy" by her nine grandchildren, Morgan and Nico Palermo, Anthony and Scott Fackenthall, Sal, Dante and Nick Biasi and Angelo and Adriana Palermo.
Many hours were spent enjoying sports, watching Hallmark movies and spending time with family and friends. Her swimming pool was enjoyed by family and neighbors dating back to it's installation in 1973 and still stands today. Carole was employed at Tung-Sol and Federal Business Products before retiring and traveling with her husband. Carole was a woman of values and prayed the rosary every night before going to sleep. Her warm smile and waving goodbye at her front door will be missed.
Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Susan Dubravski, Rose Avillion and Linda Palermo; brothers-in-law, Wesley Palermo and spouse, Donna, Rich and David Palermo and George Joseph; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Michael; mother, Irene Avillion; sister, Lois "Cookie" Coxe; brother, Alfred Avillion; brothers-in-law, Frank "Frog" Palermo, Ernest and Louise Palermo and George Dubravski; and sister-in-law, Corra Joseph.
