Diane M. Planutis

Diane M. Planutis, 57, formerly of Hazleton and a guest at Forest Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Weatherly, passed away Friday evening in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.

Born in Hazleton, Sept. 17, 1966, she was the daughter of Janet (Reinmiller) Planutis, Keylares, and the late Joseph J. Planutis.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her uncles, Charles and David Reinmiller; and Robert "Maj" Planutis and his wife, Judith; and brother, Michael Planutis.

She was of the Roman Catholic faith. She was very religious and always watched Mass on TV.

Diane lived life with joy and never complained of her physical limitations. She was a great joy to her family. She loved music and was an avid reader. She was a Dodgers fanatic and enjoyed listening to baseball with her brother, Joe.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her brother, Joseph D. Planutis, Keylares; sister, Barbara Malloy and her husband, Michael, Beaver Meadows; nieces, Sara Planutis, Beaver Meadows; and Julia Planutis, Nesquehoning; nephew, Joseph Planutis, Nesquehoning; special aunt, Barbara Potucek, Harleysville; and several cousins whom she loved dearly. She will be forever missed by all.

A memorial service will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at John J. Pusti Funeral Home Inc., 480 W. Broad St., Hazleton. Inurnment will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hazleton.
