Eleanor (Green) Sluck, 90, a resident of Dayspring Assisted Living Facility, passed away Feb. 25.
Eleanor was married to David Sluck for 60 years before he passed away June 16, 2020.
Eleanor was born Feb. 20, 1932, in West Hazleton. She was the daughter of the late William and Monica (Rackiss) Green.
Eleanor was a member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Hazleton. She worked in the sewing industry for 30 years, then nine years with the Hazleton Area School District before retiring. Eleanor and Dave moved to Cleveland, Ga., in 2016 and then to Johns Island, S.C., in 2018.
Eleanor was known for her love of football, reading, bingo and traveling to the casinos. She volunteered many years at St. John's B.C. Church before moving to Georgia.
Eleanor was a wonderful mother and is survived by her daughter, Sharon Page and Sharon's husband, Rodger, Johns Island, S.C.; sons, David Sluck, Ebervale; and Darryl Sluck and his wife, Lisa, Spearfish, S.D.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Sluck and his wife, Sandy; and grandson, David Elijah Sluck.
Eleanor is survived by her sisters, Lee Damian, Virginia; Beatrice Schott, New Jersey; and Carole Anne Perlino, Arizona; her sisters-in-law, Anna Green and Diane Green; and brother-in-law, Joseph Sluck and his wife, Kathy, all of Pennsylvania. Eleanor loved her nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She has many nieces and nephews and will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, Charleston, S.C.
