Jean G. (Gaumer) Ripple, 93, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, of Weatherly passed away peacefully Wednesday at Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly.
Born Monday, May 7, 1928, in Weatherly, she was the daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Brown) Gaumer.
She was also predeceased by her husband, William John Ripple, on Dec. 9, 2016; sister, Laverne Miller; and nephew, Bobby Miller.
Surviving are daughters, Gail Ripple, Bethlehem; Susan Marley, wife of Gerald, Hazle Twp; brother, William Gaumer and his companion, Eleanor Hadesty, Tamaqua; grandchildren, Pamela Gasper; Patricia Gorka and her husband, Eric; Kaitlyn Marley; great-grandchildren, Danielle Eroh, Aubrey and Aaron Gorka; and niece, Michelle Miller.
A Weatherly High School graduate, Jean was an active member of Faith United Church of Christ, Hazle Twp.
Jean worked in the payroll department of Tung-Sol for nine years, and then worked as a bookkeeper for a number of companies.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Jean enjoyed gardening and tending to her home. Jean liked visits to the casino, playing bingo and cards.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 211 First St., Weatherly.
A celebration of Jean's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith UCC of Hazleton, 21 Faith Drive, Hazleton, the Rev. Jean Hess to officiate.
Entombment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua.
Memorials in Jean's name may be made to the church.
