Joseph Klatka Obituary

Joseph S. Klatka, 82, of Quakake died Monday at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a 10-year battle with Lewy body dementia and Parkinson's disease.

Born in McAdoo, Oct. 23, 1939, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Klonitsko) Klatka.

Joseph was a member of St. Richard's Roman Catholic Church, Barnesville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Consolidated Cigar, McAdoo.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a daughter-in-law, Kerrie Klatka.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Theresa Schwartz; sons, Joseph Klatka and wife, Stephanie, Andreas; Mark Klatka, Tamaqua; a daughter, Michele Chamberlain and husband, Tim, Bloomsburg; a brother, John Klatka and wife, Joan, Shenandoah; grandchildren, Brad Klatka and wife, Shawna; Nikki Klatka; Alexis Wilner and husband, John; Adam Klatka; and Sara and Matt Chamberlain; and great-grandchildren, Michael Wilner; Carter and Dylan Klatka; and Josh Lisbinski.

Funeral services will be held March 19 at Stanley E. Anilosky Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert T. Finlan will preside.

Burial will be held at a later date.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. March 19 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Richard's Church would be appreciated by the family.
