Louis V. Seo, 93, of Hazleton, died Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.
Born May 5, 1929, in Hazleton, he was a son of Anthony and Colombo (Melchiari) Seo. Louis was a devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hazleton.
Louis was an active-duty member in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1949. Upon completion of his tour, he enlisted in the Reserves until he was called back to serve in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1959.
Louis enjoyed gambling as a hobby and looked forward to his weekly visits to the casinos. He was also an avid woodworker who took pride in the several projects he completed mostly around his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Marian Seo; daughter, Debra Seo; and sisters, Anna Seo and Angelina Slattery.
Surviving are his son, Tony Seo and his wife, Johanna, Palmerton; and Donald Seo, Gainesville, Fla.; daughter, Kathy Perchak and her husband, Joe, Hazleton; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, 210 W. Green St., Hazleton. The Rev. Robert von Frish will preside.
Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran & UCC Cemetery, Drums.
Friends and family are invited to call at Krapf & Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory, 530 W. Butler Drive, Drums, from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 210 W. Green St., Hazleton, PA, 18201.
