Theresa Lesko Obituary
Theresa A. (Washelofsky) Lesko, beloved mother and grandmother, of Lausanne Twp., Weatherly, passed away peacefully Sunday at home while in the care of her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Theresa attended Hazle Twp. High School and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Weatherly.
She worked for Tung-Sol and RCA before retiring from Weatherwood Carbon County Home, where she worked in the dietary department.
Theresa was an excellent cook and housekeeper and enjoyed crocheting. She loved sightseeing, shopping and Broadway shows. Theresa adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they brought great joy to her life.
Born in Hazle Twp., she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Pavilsky) Washelofsky. Theresa was also predeceased by her husband, Joseph W. Lesko Sr., on Dec. 7, 2013; brothers, John Jr., Edward and Frank; and sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Mingione and Mrs. Jennie Stefanisko.
Surviving are her son, Joseph J. Lesko Jr. and his wife, Sharon; daughters, Andrea M. (Lesko) Pudliner and her husband, Harold; Cheryl A. (Lesko) Hirko and her husband, David, all of Weatherly; grandchildren, Erin Visicaro and her husband, Philip; Nicolai Lesko and his husband, David Lisk; Caitlin Anthony and her husband, Girard; Olivia Hirko and Karoline Hirko; three great-grandchildren, Philip J. and Natasha R. Visicaro and Riley R. Anthony. Theresa is also survived by her loving twin sister, Eleanor Barna, Freeland.
She is survived by many loving and caring nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 211 First Street, Weatherly, 570-427-4231.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Union Cemetery, East Main St., Weatherly. The Rev. Mariusz Bezek, O.S.J., will officiate.
