Anna Plesa

Anna V. Age 91, of Bethany Courtyard, Horseheads, Monday, November 10, 2003, at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center, Elmira. Family and friends are invited to call at Ballard & Lindgren Funeral Home, 161 Oakwood Ave., on Sunday, November 16th, from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Cotner officiating. Burial in Chemung Cemetery. The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Anthony Mruk of Elmira Heights; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Carol Plesa of Palmyra, NY; five grandchildren, Cynthia and Charles Kanac, Karen and Ronald Bukowski, Denise and Kurt Cox, Christine Page, Brian Plesa; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Marissa Bukowski; and two nieces, Pauline (Gary) Granger and Susan (Bill) VanSicle. She was predeceased by her husband, George Plesa; and grandson, Matthew Plesa. Anna was born August 7, 1912 in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth Kurcharek Valuch. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and had a deep love for animals.
