Boyd Joseph Carlyle

Boyd Joseph Age 30 of East Athens, PA died unexpectedly April 5, 2003 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born in Elmira, NY on August 6, 1972, the son of Joseph and Cathleen (Roote) Carlyle. Boyd was a 1990 graduate of Waverly High School, member of Waverly Moose Lodge #1490, an avid sports fan; he drove stock cars for many years and was a Civil War buff. He was employed as a welder at GE Rail Car in Sayre, PA. Boyd is survived by his parents, Joseph and Cathy Carlyle; paternal grandparents, Harry and Anne Carlyle of Lowman, NY; maternal grandmother, Helen Roote, of Ashland, NY; sister, Cassie Carlyle Worden and her husband Jeffrey of Chemung, NY; niece, Augustine of Chemung, NY; extended family, Judy, Michael and Eric Carlyle of Ulster, PA; lifelong friend, Chad Bennett; and his devoted dog, Kaley. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Donald Roote. Friends may call at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main St. Wellsburg, NY on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. with the funeral and committal service immediately following at the funeral home at 8 p.m. with David Wilkerson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
