Brian Conley Obituary
CONLEY, Brian Jay
46, was found in final rest listening to his music in his favorite chair on September 21, 2007 at his home in La Quinta, California. Born and raised in Bath, NY, he graduated from Haverling High School in 1979 and obtained an Associate's Degree in Business at Corning Community College. During deer season, Brian managed the family business of Conley's Slaughter House. After having trained with Stanley Steamer in Buffalo, he had spent the last eight years of his life in sunny California, where he worked diligently to create his own business, Conley's Carpet Cleaning. His customers and acquaintances admired and appreciated his quest for perfection, and were never failed to be amazed by his realistic insights tempered with his unique sense of humor. Brian is survived by his three sons: Kyle (17), Bryant (14), and Michael (12). They are students at Bath Central School, and reside with their mother, Mary Coon Conley. The family finds some peace in that Brian has been reunited with his predeceased father, George W. Conley, and his grandmother, Anita Antolin. He is survived by his loving mother, Elaine Conley of Bath. Four brothers and three sisters, with several nieces and nephews will mourn his untimely death, but will find peace in the fact that their baby brother can now be at peace with himself. Brian's family includes his twin sister, Barrie Joy Conley, residing in Naples, FL, with nephew, Mark Frederick; Marjean Nielsen and niece, Kristi Nielsen of Bath, with great-nephews, Blake and Ian Ratliffe, and nephew, Pete Nielsen of Raleigh, NC; Dean Conley and wife, Janice (Swarthout) of Bath, parents of nephew, Eric Conley in Rochester, and niece, Deana Conley teaching in Kissimmee, Florida; Michael Lodge Mezzanotte of Raleigh, NC; Martin Lodge of Sierra Vista, AZ, and nephews, Greg Lodge, with two great-nieces; and Martin Lodge, III, with a great-niece and a great-nephew; Patricia Walling of Martinez, GA, niece, Erika of Augusta, GA, and nephew, Tom (Kristi) Walling of Jacksonville, FL, with new great-nephew, Tommy; William (Mary Cobb) Conley of Bath, NY/Tavares, FL, with niece, Tara of Houston, TX, and nephew, Shea (Diana Rose) Conley of Louisville, KY, with great-nephew, William and great-niece, Glenna Rose. Our family's loss of one so very much loved…one of such unique humor…one who possessed such a fiery compassion for life…one who made us laugh when we thought we should cry…is a sorrow felt by the many friends with whom he shared such special memories. We appreciate your thoughtfulness and expressions of support as we meet this unexpected challenge. A graveside service at Nondaga Cemetery is planned for Sunday, October 7th, at 12:00 p.m. followed by a gathering of friends and family at the American Legion Post in Bath. Donations to one's favorite charity will be appreciated in memory of your life shared with Brian Jay Conley.
